I've always used the TC-8 Swirl Cutter as my finishing step after Menzerna IP or SIP.

I'm just about out, and looking for a replacement. How would the Meg 205 stack up, with an orange and/or white pad? I'm looking for something to finish down with, and it will be followed by LSP.

Tropi-Care changed names to Showroom FX, as far as I know. I've used the TC-8 for some time, always on an orange LC pad and PC, and had great results. Just looking for a change of pace.

So, Meg 205, or any other recommendations?

Thanks fellow Auto Geeks :props:

Menzerna 085rd and 3M Ultrafina are great finishing polishes.

Would these be comparable to the Meguiar's 205? Or would these be used after the 205?

The only reason I'm stuck on the 205 is I can get it OTC :props: , and don't have any pressing needs for an AG order

If you're working on softer paint the 205 most likely won't finish down as well as you'd like. I had to follow 205 with P085rd to get a good finish on a new Mustang. On my personal car (Dodge) 205 finishes down great and I don't see any benefit to following up with P085rd.

In a perfect world, get both? :dblthumb2:

I like the Menzerna products I've used to far, I'll need to grab the P085rd on my next order, to replace my TC-8.

I think the 205 is a good buy regardless, especially if I don't need the correction power of the IP or SIP.

Absolutely! :xyxthumbs:

I have both and find that 205 is awesome 9 times out of 10. I did a full detail on my personal car over the weekend and 205 finished perfect everywhere except the hood, which has been repainted and is much softer clear. On the hood I followed 205 with P085rd and it came out looking the same as the rest of the car did using 205 as a final polish.
