Meguiars Silicone-Free Dressing shines and protects rubber, plastic and vinyl with an instant, slick shine. (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiar-s-silicone-free-dressing.html)

silicone free dressing. how would this work as a tire dressing? applied with a spray bottle. would it be SOWA?

Anything water based doesn't hold up well on the exterior. For exterior trim and wheels I like Megs ASD.

I agree, it may look fine on the tire when first applied, but longevity is not going to be there.

My preference: Meguiars Gold Class Endurance High Gloss Tire Gel is a high gloss version of Meguiars Endurance Tire Protectant Gel. (http://www.autogeek.net/golclasenhig.html)

I agree, I use Endurance High Gloss Tire Gel for those that want a long lasting high gloss and ASD for a black satin sheen.

If you're detailing inside a body shop, this is the stuff to use. Otherwise, there are better products available, but they aren't body shop safe.
