Hi guys,

I begin my shopping to new products in my collection and I'm not sure witch choose between wax or sealant.I know the difference between wax and paint sealant is the durability.

I had thought Souverän liquid wax or paint sealant WG 3.0. Which should I take?

Thanks

Ben

To me it's a no brainer. Sealant is far superior, and does not attract as much dust.

I have pretty much stopped using wax completely.

You could buy both and top your sealant with a wax if you like that look.

I would just buy some BFWD and be done with it personally.

Does a sealant gives a deep and shiny effect like a wax?

collnite 845. you really won't find a better wax.

for sealants i like 3m performance finish. honestly though collnite 845 is just a shinny on most colors.

Pretty much agree with Ben here. Sealants. (except for indoor car show events, at times)

If I'm not mistaken; and, by the product's description; BFWD is a sealant. I've got to try some soon (Spring)

Hi Ben...

Per this Mike Phillips' thread......
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/23263-difference-between-cleaner-wax-finishing-wax.html

......is a list/pictures of AGO's Paint Protection Products...Souverän Liquid Wax is listed as a:
Finishing Hybrid Wax/Sealant; and, Spray-On Hybrid Wax...Not "true" Finishing Waxes, IMO/AFAIK.

You might want to take a look at the different finishing waxes, and sealants shown below.
BTW...WG 3.0 is an excellent sealant choice!

Hope this helps some.

Does a sealant gives a deep and shiny effect like a wax?

IME, WGDGPS 3.0 has given me this effect. Along with incredible gloss and slickness.

I love my WG 3.0. I put two coats on my black WRX and the shine and the slickness is amazing!

if I understand there are 2 differences between wax and sealant.

-durability(about 4 at 6 months for sealant,6 at 8 weeks for the wax)

-better deep and gloss for the wax

it is correct?

The durability part is correct. But, some sealants have a candy look to them and other do have a deep glossy look to them. As Ben mentioned earlier, get some Blackfire Wet Diamond, and you will not be disappointed. Easy on and super easy wipe off. Can't beat the look compared to other sealants.

WDGPS gives my black car the depth of waxes I've used plus themakes my paint feel harder and slicker. Give it a try you wont be disapointed or just get the free sample with your order. I don't feel the need to top WDGPS with a wax it looks that good.

I have used waxes for 30 years - and never have I been able to get a candy look like I get with a sealant (UPGP). To each his own, I love the look and the ease of application:

Isn't it usually said that sealants give off "plasticy" look whereas waxes give off a warm glow? Also, Collinite, which seems to be a hybrid sealant-wax, can last 4-6 months.
