How do you guys clean the inside of a rear window?

I'm afraid of ruining the defroster 'lines'...

Can I just user stoner's glass cleaner and a MF and carefully go in the direction of the lines?

Thanks.

Yep, you are good. I suggest getting one of those stoners wand things with the bonnets.

Just be real patient and examine your work from different angles.

The lines are usually embedded in the glass. No problem using Stoner's IG and a MF cloth

Its a pain any which way you do it. most likely you will need to go over the area 2 times. once is rarely enough. the secret is to clean dry towels, you will need 1 to spray cleaner and wipe. 2nd to wipe dry vertical, flip over and wipe in horizontal direction, lastly 3rd towel repeat what the 2nd towel did. now it will be streak free.

I like IPA as a glass cleaner mixed 1:1 with distiled water it cost $1.20 per 32 oz. I could use more water less rubbing alcohol.

be sure to never use ammonia on tinted windows, it eats it up...often times inside windows are tinted too...so no Windex. with ammonia.

i find this tool semi useful. get the triangle one not the square shape. the triangle gets into corners easier. they need to come with more drying pads, its a hassle to swap them out. so maybe buy 2 or 3 of these.

Used one of the stoner wands this past week, it was awesome! I've had some other off brand wands before and they are all junk. The stoners one is actually decently strong plastic and has a nice bit of foam between the plate and the bonnet.

I've been using some Meg's window cleaner concentrate, works great, great smell and cheap when bought by the gallon.

Thanks everybody! I have the stoner's tool but was afraid to use it on the defroster lines. But it sounds like it's ok to do so and I'll carefully give it a try.

Unless something has changed, the defroster lines are ON the glass, hence the need for care in cleaning. OP--just be gentle.

I like Meguiars D120 Glass Cleaner concentrate, soft waffle weave microfiber towels and a glass cleaning wand, similar to the Stoners previously referred to. Before I even start on the rear glass, I remove the rear head restraints to give better access. After cleaning the glass with D120 and microfiber wipe down, I lightly mist the microfiber pad on the cleaning wand and wipe down again, giving special attention to the bottom edge of the glass and corners. No matter what tools you have, cleaning that rear glass is always a pain.
