The Festool DA sander/polisher with dust extractor kit...

Just randomly came across this thing. It's expensive as hell! Was just wondering if anyone has one, or has tried it.

It apparently not only sands and polishes...but, when hooked to this dust collecting unit, will collect it's own mess! How cool would this be to compound with? Imagine no dusting at all?

German made, and claims to have nearly no vibration at all.

I'm not sure that thing will "clean up its own mess" while compounding, usually they suck sanding dust up through the holes in the sandpaper and backing plate.

True. People should make that happen though, haha.

I know they make a conventional DA polisher without the dust collection, but I do not think its available here in the US yet. I had sent an email to Festool and they told me they will be bringing it here eventually.

The entire Festool line is very best in woodworking tools money can buy. Several of my friends have them and say they are that good.

The integrated vacuum system ensures a nearly dust free environment and that's huge when we're talking about breathing or not breathing in sawdust particles.

Just to give you some idea of colt click on the woodworking link below.

They really do have some cool stuff.

Has anyone actually used their sander as a polisher? I found this tool being sold as a polisher on a website. But, it appears they advertise it as strictly a sander...

You must have missed the big Festool comparison when the Flex PE-14-2-150 was released last year. Some people were questioning if the Flex was a re-badged Festool.

Yea, I would be nice but like someone mentioned it would need holes in the pad and even then I'm not to sure it would work lol
