Hi all, I am going to use Dr. colorchip on a car sometime this week. I inspected the car, it's chipped pretty bad, most chips are fixable, but some already have rust in the chipped area.

I assume I should remove the corrosion first. But I dont have any rust removal chemicals here. I am thinking if its possible to remove rust with distilled vinegar? anyone has any experience with this? May be need to use a soaked towel ( with vinegar)and rub hard?

Thanks in advance.

I can't say but I have a small sanding pen I picked up at the hobby store for things like this. It has a fiberglass insert that sands away whatever you need. I had a chip that was rusted on my truck and was able to remove all the rust with it. It will remove paint too so be careful. It was with the air brushs and tools. It works great and was pretty cheap

Cquartz Iron X does a great job of removing surface rust.

CarPro IronX Paste (http://www.autogeek.net/carpro-iron-x-paste-150.html)
CarPro IronX Spray (http://www.autogeek.net/carpro-iron-x-cleaner.html)

Or they make rust converter or rust primer you could use for heavy stuff which is available at auto parts store.

Iron X is going to be the easiest and fastest way for surface rust or light rust.
