Hey everyone, my truck has Vinyl seating and am curious if there is anything I should do to protect it? I am very leery of trying something as I do not want to have a slippery or slimy mess on my hands as I am sure it will not "absorb" as leather would.

I want to keep the interior as nice as possible, have not used anything on the truck yet and am figuring I will have to take some sort of measures to preserve it.

For what its worth I have PERL and 303 but again, I am assuming they will leave undesired results.

Is there a product made especially for vinyl interior/ seat covering?

I can't speek about Perl....havn't tried it yet but 303 will work well for you.

I use Optimum protectant the most and really like it!

Mothers VRL is another great product and is availablr otc.

^^ have you diluted the 303 or used it at 100% concentration?

Ok. Maybe I will try a little section on a back seat somewhere to see what my results are. Thank you for the tip!

303 will be non-slippery and have a slightly satin finish on most vinyl.

If, after you apply it, wipe and let it dry, it's still too glossy for you, just buff it with a clean MF towel.

Vinylex or PERL from my world.

When I purchased my car in July I put on some Vinylex a few days after, and I performed a touch-up in the fall because some areas were dirty from teenagers. I really liked this product (UV protection, seems to be anti-static - no dust accumulation, etc...). PERL seems to be cheaper per ounce and after I got some on BOGO I learned it can be a replacement for Vinylex. I will see if I can have move to 1 product inside and out.

I like Vinylex as well, it's also water-based (IIRC) but has a little more glossy/shiny finish.

glossy or shiny finish isnt necessary for me. I am more so concerned about protecting. In fact i would rather it be more of a satin finish as my vinyl is satin and almost has a leatherette sorta look to it. I think it would look funky shiny. thank you for the posting and input though! I guess I have a couple options in my cabinet as we speak! I knew all that money I spent the last couple months was not in vain! lol

I use PERL mixed 1:5 as recommended. Spray directly on the surface or on a pad for those tight places. Wipe off. No need to go back later and wipe again. No greasy residue, low sheen and less slippery than other products I've used. It darkens a bit, but I can still tell I have a charcoal interior, not a black one. My interior is MBTex which is Mercedes marketing jargon to make you feel better about paying a bunch for a car with a plastic interior.

^^ HAHA! Thank you for that input! I almost bought a 2009 c230 that had the mbtex interior. I remember asking the sales person what that meant and they kept dancing around the notion that it was not real leather. haha!
