Three days ago I detail a White Honda Activa[scooter]. Owner was happy with results but certainly I was not. I was expecting some extra gloss but Iwas failed to get it. I used [1] Mother's clay bar [2] Meguiar's speed glaze 80 [3] Meguiar's NXT wax 2.0. I want to know is there something extra that I can do to get some more shine out of white colour?

Duragloss products seem to work very well on white.

Try a second coat of the NXT or a spray wax

Instead of the Speed Glaze I would have opted for a paint cleaner.

White is almost always "stained" to some extent. In actuality it is not the white, but the clear on top of the white, but it is usually dirty.

I have to recommend Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion. It is a great product. If you are looking for a quick OTC fix, Mother's works well also.

That's the secret I have found on white though - just get it really clean, add a good wax and you will shine.

I tend to get the best gloss on white with a sealant, but white can be hard for sure.

In the pictures, the paint looks pretty glossy to me... maybe that's as glossy as it's going to get?

Instead of the Speed Glaze I would have opted for a paint cleaner.

Just to note, Speed Glaze contains diminishing abrasives so worked by hand or machine it would work like a paint cleaner and in most cases offer more cleaning power as many paint cleaners are non-abrasive.

Actually, any color paint whether it's a clear coated paint system or single stage, if the vehicle is a daily driver, the paint gets dirt stains embedded in the paint and impacted onto the paint it's just with non-white colors it's hard to see the staining effect. I cover this in detail in this article,

Couldn't agree more... in the below article I show two wax pads, one is new one is after using Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion on a daily driver, I put them side by side to show the embedded and impacted dirt the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion removed after claying.

How to clay, clean and wax paint by hand with Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion and Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Paste Wax (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/25218-how-clay-clean-wax-paint-hand-pinnacle-signature-series-ii.html)

While claying will remove above surface bonded contaminants, Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion will remove embedded road grime and pollutants as you can see when we compare the applicator pad we used to a brand new, clean applicator pad.

Don't tell us that! We want to always have hope there is more shine to be had from that next great product/polisher/app method/etc. at the end of the rainbow

Yeah I thought twice about posting that but I looked at the pictures and the paint looks pretty darn glossy...

Gloss comes from smoothness initially and then a quality coat of wax or a paint sealant will build on and increase the gloss created by things like claying and machine polishing.

The goal though is to get the surface as smooth as possible via the prep steps...

After that... time to pick an LSP

It's hard to pick a car that we've worked on recently that has the most gloss and they all come out very glossy but to me this paint is dripping with gloss...

The yellow 1954 Ford F-100 also had dirty, stained paint and I took pictures that shared this and posted them to the thread also...

Remember how dirty the clay was after claying just one half of the roof? Clay remove ABOVE surface bonded contaminants but it doesn't remove embedded staining of the paint. You can see abrading the paint with a light polish and a microfiber pad has removed the staining effect and restored a very bright and shiny finish.

The pad on the left is brand new and white, the pad on the right is stained with dirt we buffed off the clearcoat finish on this truck and this was AFTER claying.

Just goes to show that ALL colors of paint can get dirt stains...
