Got myself a Van N Blo for Christmas and just opened the box today as we left on a vacation the night of Christmas.

As you can see it has a good case of rust. This unit shows to be made in October 2011. I'm very disappointed given the cost of this unit; has anyone else received one recently and had this problem? I'm contacting AG in the morning as this is not acceptable.

Thats odd.

AG will no doubt take care of the issue though.

Weird... Just keep in mind that this has nothing to do with Autogeek. Metro manufactures and packages the vacs before they are shipped to AG.

I am positive they will make the situation right.

Oh I know, just going to them since I got it there, hopefully they will help out on this. It was sealed when I got it, and looks new in every way, other than this rust making it look well I don't know.

That's certainly not norm with their products. Looks like the part got wet and made it through QC without them catching it. Metro and AG will obviously make it right immediately.

I would suggest calling Meghan or Nick and they should be able to get to the bottom of this. I have both a Metro Vac & Blo and a Master blaster and neither exhibit any issues like this.

They are replacing it and noted that this wasn't something that they had seen before. I could see perhaps a chance for rust if it was from overseas perhaps but who knows?

Strange. Glad it's being replaced. I haven't opened my Master Blaster yet but I'll look it over when I do

Metro makes all Vacs in the US and they stand firmly behind all of their products, we have not had this happen before but it has been taken care of.

I am sure it would have been taken care Immediately without being posted on the site. In my opinion this matter should have been taken care of in PM or over the phone.
Just my 2 cents.
What are the proper procedures for something like this?

I think posting it on here also shows what outstanding customer service AG has to offer.

I agree. He also mentioned that this was NOT AutoGeek's fault.

Threads like this are good- it is helping spread the word. Now that we know about the potential issue, someone who is purchasing one of these knows that ruse is NOT normal-and how AG will remedy the situation. :dblthumb2:

I don't see anything wrong with the post. I didn't take the post as a complaint against AG… maybe it was but that's not how I took it. I took it more as a "has anyone else had this happen" type of post.
