Removing Wheel Scratches

My clear coated aluminum wheels have several scratches in the clear. I assume that I would go about removing the scratches the same way I would the paint on my car? I am planning on applying Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover by hand as a first step.

For those of you that have done this do you have any suggestions or recommendations?
