I used a white LC CCS pad to apply Duragloss 501 on my car today.

I sprayed XMT PPC on the pad afterwards to clean it. I let it sit for 10 minutes, scrubbed with a brush and rinsed. Still lots of product oozing out when i wring it. I repeated 2 more times. Still lots of product in the pad.

At this point, I sprayed it again and will let it sit over night.

Was expecting something quicker/easier to use. I don't expect it to be white again, but I thought it would dissolve the product inside.

I could let it soak overnight in solvent, but that would defeat the whole point of the XMT PPC spray. I could do that with any of the APC or Dawn that I already had.

I am open to the possibility that I am approaching this incorrectly and welcome any suggestions.

Thanks.

I spray with XMT PPC and use a Foam Pad Conditioning Brush (http://www.autogeek.net/padtool.html) to scrub. I usually leave on polisher and use on moving pad. I let the pad sit for 5-10 min. Then I immediately put into hot water bucket for 5-10 minutes to soak. Most of the time I can squeeze out all the polish and cleaning solution in the water. Then rinse with fresh water. Worked great every-time!

Welcome to Duragloss my friend! It's very tough to clean out of pads, so basically dedicate that pad to DG 501. You can try a solvent.

When I'm polishing, I will spray a couple of shots on the pad with the pad cleaner and then use Mike's Cleaning Pads on the Fly technique. I will sometimes use a bad brush to clean residual polish. It works great for me.

Just goes to show you how strong 501 really is!! Soak it in mineral spirits overnight.

+2 this is common with 501 and pads. All of my white pads are slightly greenish-blue.

Since the cat is out of the bag, after soaking in mineral spirits wash with dish soap to dissolve the MS, rinse well. :)
