Hey guys,

I have orange/white/green/red pads. Can I finish down on most paints with the green pad or should I really have a black pad.

Edit - Subaru paint, Megs 205 for polishing

The only way to really know is to try it. That said, there really is not a big difference in the green and black pads. So it may work. I think the more likely situation you will run into is 205 not finishing as well as you would like.

But again, only a test spot will tell you which direction to go.

With cars that have harder clear coats you can usually finish off with a green pad and M205 most of the time. But with Subaru paint being soft, I think a black pad with M205 would work better, but as Ben mentioned a test spot will let you know.

I'd go 106FA or 85RD on a black pad to finish on soft pad. Those 2 with the black pad are the only things that work on my black highlander. 205 left marring even with a black pad.

The 85RD and a black pad is a great suggestion on soft paint. I used 85RD and a finishing pad on my soft white paint with great results. Other combo's left a haze.
