So I'm purchasing this kit today but not sure on what pads to go with it. I'm currently going to be using Megs Ultimate Compund and Polish and when that supply finishes, I will be moving up to Megs 105 and 205. I will be using Collinite #845 for now also.

What pads are essential....a must?

So far I'm thinkin of getting 2 Orange, 2 White and not sure about the other 2.....any help would be appreciated!

Can you link the specific kit?

Get a few orange and black if you are using UC and UP...that would be my best advice.

You can tackle just about any car using

Orange foam cutting pad
White foam polishing pads
Black foam finishing pads

More pads is better. The worse the condition of the paint the more orange cutting pads you'll want and need.

I cover this and a lot of topics here,

most importantly, get 5.5 inch flat pads and a 5 inch bp

especially if you are getting a PC

1 black
1 blue

Orange, white & black are all I use. I have blue but only a couple and I don't think there is enough of a difference between black to justify having them.

The CCS has a red pad but the flat have a Blue pad...it sure is confusing. I have added and removed so many pads to and from my cart today, the sale will be over before I make my mind up.

CCS have blue and red, flat only has blue. Red is generally used to apply wax or sealant, but blue would also work for that purpose

If I had to chose exactly 6 pads : 2 orange, 2 white, 1 black/gray, 1 red

thoughts on the Hi-Gloss CCS or Smart Pads by LC? Also I assume the backing plate is the same for the PC7424 and GG?
