So I'm on this kick where I think the interior looks better without a dressing. I use megs water based dressing diluted to about 1:1
I detailed a buddies car yesterday and my cousins today neither got a dressing. My one buddy works at a dealership so he thoroughly inspected the car and he didn't say anything about not dressing it. I just feel its a more natural look and a cleaner look.

Is this bad?

Not a hack, but you really aren't offering the level of service that most detailers do. If you don't like shine there are plenty of products on the market that will offer som UV protection without changing the look of the dash.

Megs doesn't have a ton of shine, not diluted at least.

I personally don't like the greasy look. Most ppl do though

Where was it written that shine=clean?
I prefer no dressings also, but you have to protect

Very true- Question is the more I dilute the megs does this equal less protection? Should I stop diluting at 50%

303 has a ton of protection and very little gloss.

I prefer the matte finish of a factory dash.

It all depends on your customer

I wouldn't call you a hack. But you could maybe try something like UIGP.

No hack as long as you are thoroughly cleaning it and paying attention to detail.

Depends on the level of service you want to provide... You want to provide protection and leave the car looking new don't you? But you don't like gloss?

There's an app for that! :)

If you want a deep rich color and a satin finish there's an app for that!

You want no gloss but a true matte seal? There's an app for that too!

Here's another great option that has some gloss but a controllable level

303AP is a great product as well.

And as you know if you want to bling it up you can use plenty of things...

to me 303 gives a lot of shine. i like the look it gives, but i use it primarily for the protection. that to me is more important! =)

Pick up some Meg's QID... it has UV protection in it and doesn't change the look of materials at all.

I like Meg's Natural Shine protectant, as well is Poorboy's Natural Look (which has less shine than the Megs but not by much). I don't like the oily look either.

But I clean with Meg's Quick Interior Detailer, it'll clean but not change the color at all, but I don't know if it has any protectant: Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer is a pump spray detailer for all car interior rubber, plastic and vinyl surfaces. (http://www.autogeek.net/mg13616.html)
