I have been loving the MF pads too for swirl removal. the opt polishing pads are also great for polishing, just not heavy correction.

I have to agree. I finish with foam and the new Optimum Finishing Polish!

Meguiar's D300 and MF cutting discs here too. Heavier stuff gets M105 and Surbuf or cyan HT pad. Still messing around with follow up polishes.

Dear Friends

My go-to product is you guys and your sharing your knowledge and experience. I know almost nothing about this stuff, so I learn a lot by coming here each day.

I'm just out of the starting gate in detailing my own vehicles again, but I'm satisfied with what I'm using with one exception. I somehow managed to mar my new Odyssey's white paint with the Ultima Elastrofoam block, but it wouldn't be noticeable to others.

The product that most astounds me is Ultima's Paint Guard Plus. I'm slow and don't know what I'm doing, but I can wax my whole van in about ten minutes with that stuff.

I used a Metro Master Blaster for the first time this evening, and it was a bit of a letdown. I'm sure it's my technique that needs fixing, but it took me about fifteen minutes to dry my van and about ten minutes to dry my wife's Lexus ES300.

I know virtually nothing about all of this stuff, so I don't know how to compare various products. I do remember that it took me about two-and-a-half hours to wax my Volkswagen GTI back in 1986. I could wax that thing in five minutes with Ultima's Paint Guard Plus.

To this point Meg's MF/D300/M105, but Optimum MF/hyper compound/hyper polish is coming on strong. I no longer use foam pads for correction, only for finishing or LSP application.

I will say also that UNO HD version 4 is in a class by itself and can remove 800 grit sanding marks , and can finish down and even be used for jeweling as well as Menzerna 85rd. One product does it all depending on pad selection. It's completely pad dependent and works great with both foam and MF pads. I really am getting excited by this stuff. I've not seen anything like it. They also have a new AIO coming out in January called 3D Speed that shows promise. The idea of having one SMAT product to replace a handful of others for me is exciting.
