I am going to put a winter wax on my 2011 Infiniti G37xS in moonlight white which is a metallic-type of white. It has what looks to be reg and green flecks in it when the sun hits it right.

I have the following waxes: Collinite 845, Meguiars Ultimate Wax and the D301 Finishing wax with the MF pads, and Duragloss 105 and 501.

I've read this board up and down and have no idea what the opinion of the members would really be. These are the ones I have, so I am sticking to one of them.

I'd appreciate hearing some opinions, thank you!

For winter protection I would go with 845.

I more or less was interested in the same thing, and the above thread is it. I have Collinite #845 and really enjoyed putting it on by hand. Next time around I will be machine applying. Seems the general consensus is #845 should look just as good as any other wax, last longer, and be relatively easy to apply.

Do you have anything to cleanse the paint? Clay? An actual paint cleanser? It would be in your best interest to do both before-hand.

I did a 50/50 on the hood of my 2010 Infiniti FX45 with both Collinate and Meguiars Ultimate Wax...application, removal and appearance was almost identical. In fact, I couldnt tell any difference. You should do a 50/50 or 25/25/25/25 and see if you can see ANY dfference, I would be curious! In any event, you cant go wrong with either one. But since its getting colder outside, you may have to put the Collinate in warm water so you can use it.

good luck

I may do this on the hood, good idea. I do have a heated garage to work in so I'm fortunate in that area.

I do have clay which I plan to do, and also some iron-x. It's my first time with iron-x so I'm interested to see how it bleeds. I don't think I have an actual cleaner, not sure why. I've heard duragloss 501 has pretty good cleaning and a store here in town stocks the line.

I filled a small pail with hot water and it held long enough to wax the car and keep #845 nice and THIN. Just don't forget to put the cap back on!

Wash..Clay..And a chemical cleaner polish like Klasse All In One or similar, then two coats of 845 and your set for winter...A quick shot of Pinnacle Souveran Spray wax to keep it up from time to time...

Duragloss 501 followed with 105 or 845.

How about 601/501/105 mixed 1:2:2? Read about that somewhere else.
