Cucumber Explosion! (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/off-topic/43588-cucumber-explosion.html)

Over the weekend Rand, (my son), and I tried out the Dodo Juice Home Brew Kit to make our own wax. Rand is 12 and keenly interested in anything that has an inkling of "science" to it. Especially making something using chemicals like a scientist.

First I would like to say he loved the wax making kit and after opening it dad couldn't get the project going fast enough.

Second, as long as you follow the directions and provide adult supervision you're guaranteed success.

Just as much fun as making it was his brainstorming session trying to come up with a unique name for his creation, I left this part completely up to him and the name he came up with was,

Cucumber Explosion!

That said, here's a few pictures of the results,

After making the wax we let it cool and fully set-up through the weekend...

The way the wax looks here is normal...

"Come on Dad, hurry up I cant wait to play with it"

I can imagine your son said something along those lines.

Another cool father son/daughter project.

Great name.

He's quite creative... I was surprised at how fast he came up with it and once he came up with it there was no changing his mind...

Welcome back to the forum!

Thanks, it was nice having a few days off. Of course we went to the Daytona Turkey Run Car Show and Swap meet for relaxation... huge car show. My friend Earl the Plumber was there and he bought a 1957 Chevy and a 1968 Chevelle.

Ha...thats an awesome name.

I came up with...

Green Lantern Ring Wax

He just laughed...

I agree again...

When I suggested Green Lantern Ring Wax it was because just by coincidence I found his Green Lantern Ring that he had been missing and I was trying to tie the wax to a Super Hero.

Also thought about Green Hornet car from the new Green Hornet movie and suggested,

Green Hornet Car Wax

He laughed at that suggestion too...

I think he nailed it on the head! I can see cucumber for sure with the different shades of green in it, just like a cucumber.
