I see SMAT written here and there, but cannot find a definition for it. Can someone please shed some light?

Thanks,

SMAT = Super Microscopic Abrasive Technology
DAT = Diminishing Abrasive Technology

I need to update both of the below but they'll get you started...

Also, many Optimum polishes use SMAT. Note one isn't necessarily better than the other, just options.

From my article list (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/23722-articles-mike-phillips.html) under

Compounds - Polishes - Paint Cleaners - Cleaner/Polishes - Pure Polishes - Glazes

The SMAT Pack - Everything you ever wanted to know about Meguiar's SMAT products... (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/23561-smat-pack-everything-you-ever-wanted-know-about-meguiar-s-smat-products.html)

The Aggressiveness Order of SMAT Products - This might surprise you! (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/23583-aggressiveness-order-smat-products-might-surprise-you.html)

I think I touch on these topics in my how-to book (http://www.autogeek.net/art-of-detailing-e-book.html) also...

Get the hard copy. Maybe Mike is still signing autographs. But the hard copy is nice to have and to be able to reference at any moment. Its an easy read and Mike really puts detailing into a perspective anyone can follow. He really explains every process. Funny...I hear him narrating when I read...hhmmm....

What a funny comment to make when print media is dying and being replaced by digital. Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks it's easier to read a paper magazine than a PDF one, but I'm an old fart and you're a young whippersnapper, how do you explain that one?

No problem. You'll definitely enjoy the book.

AAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!! Hilarious! There are some things that I'll read only online, but when it comes to a good book, I like having the book in my hands...I think the actual physical turning of the page is satisfying as well. Digital is taking over everything...I still buy cd's and soon I'll be looking to start a collection of vinyls. I always loved buying CD's and reading the cd liner.
