I just purchased a silver 2011 Infinity G37x. The paint feels pretty smooth but no water beads form when it rains. I would like to keep the paint nice and smooth as long as I own the vehicle. I’m looking at two different products brands and would like to get some advice. The vehicle will be kept in and out of the garage (50/50) in the heat/cold of north Texas.

Meguiar’s

“Ultimate Wash & Wax” or “Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner”
Ultimate Liquid Wax
Ultimate Polish (how can I tell if this last product is necessary).

Pinnacle

The Signature Series II Wax Kit

Why would you pick one product over the other?

Check the Detailing How to's it will give you a head's up where to start and how..Then check each how to from there.

a good washing with Meg's gold class wash...

Then Meg's smooth surface clay kit to clean the surface up..Clay and lube is included...

Try Klasse AIO to prep the paint, then Klasse sealant glaze. Klasse twins are amazing..

Top with Collinite 845 and maybe some Pinnacle spray wax as a topper from time to time...

Don't forget the before and after pics....Good luck, welcome and congrats on the new purchase...John

That means it's an AWD version.

I just finished watching the "Hand Polishing with Pinnacle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nudO8R6b9Qchttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWdYCHZrpd8#t)" & "Machine Polishing with Pinnacle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWdYCHZrpd8http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWdYCHZrpd8#t)" videos. I also did the bag test and wow, the car looks good but doesn't feel good.

Now, I feel somewhat comfortable doing the clay treatment but it seems like a lot of work. Also, in neither video I saw the guy use paint sealant; instead, he used the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion. Does the lotion works as a sealant?

Here's what I'm planing to buy: Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay Special (http://www.autogeek.net/piulpoclkit.html) and Pinnacle Signature Series II Wax Kit (http://www.autogeek.net/sisewaxkit.html)

One more question, we are on stage 3 water restriction which means no car wash at home. Will it be ok to take the car to a car wash then drive it home and do the detail in the garage?

No the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion is a chemical paint cleaner, and will not act as a sealant.

I wouldn't take the car to an automatic car wash. It may cause swirls and light scratches.

Pick yourself up some Ultima waterless wash...That's all i use now..

Claying is very easy to do, take your time keep kneading the clay as you go along and keep the surface wet with lube...It's more then worth the prep time you put into for an amazing end result..

OK "Italian Iron", it sounds like you really take care of your vehicle(s). With the water restrictions we have where I live, the use of Ultima Waterless Wash Plus+ Concentrate (http://www.autogeek.net/ultima-waterless-wash-concentrate.html) looks tempting. Wouldn't you want to remove dirt from the car before doing the waterless wash? To me, the risk of scratching the paint is too high to really do the waterless wash without removing the heavy dirt with a pressure (water only) wash -we do not have water restriction on the use of coin car wash places.

Detailers make this mistake when they post about customer's cars, but since you're now an owner, you should start spelling it with an "i", not a "y", as in "Infiniti". Congrats on the new car- the G is a really a great car.
