I'm ready to apply all that I've learned on these forums. I have a new PC...an assortment of 5.5 inch LC flat pads and Hydro pads...3 bottles of Menzerna (PO083-106fa-85rd) and a bottle of Megs 105, plus more misc stuff. It was like Xmas getting all this stuff delivered!

I have a week off in December, and plan on starting off "practicing" on my wife's red Pontiac Montana van. Then I'll do my 2007 Black Brilliant Dodge Charger--can't wait to polish that up! Medium swirling should be fun and gratifying to correct. Then off to my daughter's 2005 red Honda Civic, which is scratches galore. Lastly, time permitting, my son's 2011 Black Camaro--it only has very light scratches, but still could use some polishing--may just wait til Spring on his. Anyway, any suggestions on a sealant and/or wax to use on these cars? I'm more interested in the black ones! :)

We're going to take a lot of before/after photos, as my son may want to do this as a summer job next year. We'll be sure to post them! Thanks

Welcome to AutoGeek Online!

It looks like you have gotten a good start to what you need to work on some cars. I like using Blackfire Wet Diamond for a sealant. It is probably going to be one of the easiest sealants to apply and wipe off.

Welcome follow Hoosier! I am perpetually trying to find something that will last through our wonderful winters...you will find that behind the wheel wells (where salt exits the wheel and splashes up on the body) will be the most difficult to keep protected. Even the much celebrated Collinite with 2 coats of sealant beneath can't survive this.

I would look closely at CQuartz or Opti-Coat especially after correcting for a good long term solution...CQuartz is what I personally lean to because it can be layered easily...

Good to hear...

Best thing to do would be to post a "dedicated thread" with your questions to a forum group like Detailing 101 (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/) and that way you'll get a lot of feedback.

This is the "Intro" forum and you'll get more replies if you post a question in a forum group for detailing questions...

Welcome to AGO!

It sounds like you are off to a good start. As far as a sealant recommendation. I will always say Blackfire Wet Diamond.
