I'm going to Seattle, WA, for business next week. Can anyone recommend some good places to go eat? I've never been to Seattle before.

I hate chains, so anything one-off would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers!!!

There are a lot of good places along the waterfront. One place that has been there for many years is Ivar's on Lake Union. Great view of the city. Don't get confused by the Ivar's fast food locations. this is a nice sit down restaurant on the water. Seafood of course. There is also a great little cafe in Pike Place Market.

Gotta agree about the waterfront. Went thru this summer on our Alaskan cruise. Great town with GREAT seafood. Just had time to try the waterfront resturaunts. Gonna try and spend some more time there this summer on our way to Alaska again.

My brother lives in the Seattle area and I visited him this summer for his wedding. you have to stop at Pikes Market and see all of the foods as they have a few places to eat there. here are some pics from the market, from the space needle and on the ferry. the last one was driving on the freeway and bam , there is MT Ranier  too bad you did not have time to check out MT Saint Helens, it was an awesome sight. I have a ton of pics from that trip and when the dry season hits, it is a great place for scenery.

For seafood lovers it was heaven for sure.was cool to watch them throw the Salmon. they had a little surprise ready for a couple of teenage girls that were standing too close :D will not say what it was as I would not want to ruin it for somebody who may be going there. if you want I can PM you what it was. wish we had section to post some scenic pics. I have a bunch of descent ones.

That would be a good idea in case you see something you might want to take a pic of. there was so much to see there. the mountains were breathtaking to say that least. Pikes Market had a lot of different vendors when we were there.fresh fruit, produce, flowers like I have never seen before and a lot of other cool stuff. the pics from the Space Needle give you a nice look at the city from above. the ferry ride was cool and must say it was odd to see people using it to go to and from work every day. if it is ok with everybody I can post some pics of Mt Saint Helens. if you can make time to sneak away for a little bit, there is a lot to see.
