For those who have used both, can you tell a difference, and if so, what?

Didn't know there were 2 generations. I know the 3" Griot has a second generation. When did generation 2 come out?

Hi there yes came out a few years ago. The 6" now shape alittle different but has a lor more amps. There was a change in orbit size to give it a little more ummph. The 3 " has a different shape too make it more ergonamic I have that one now works great

Sorry, accidently pressed button sent too early. I have the earlier version of the 6" Griots orbital works great but gota chance to try the newer ver definitely has more ummph but I bought a Flex that I use mostly unless job needs then I bust out my Makita.

The 1st generation is less powerful. I'm putting mine on Ebay sometime this weekend.

Here are some pics.

Maybe someone has a new pic to compare.

I don't think anyone made an official announcment, but yes, there is a difference between the ones being produced now -vs- the ones made 2 years ago :buffing:

I haven't noticed in any change in design (appearence) one thing I have noticed is it's alot quieter :buffing:

What difference did you notice between the one your brother ran over and the one you have now? (if any)

If I remember correctly, the original Griot's didn't have a removable backing plate.

YEP THIS IS DIFFERENT THAN MY FIRST GENERATION ONE.

You have the second generation for sure.

Looks the same as my old and new one. Except mine are covered in 105 :dunno:
