Richard, I just received my polishing pads last night along with Opt spray compound and spray polish. Do these pads act like foam in the respect that you can alter the cut with product/pad combo? For instance, will I see more cut with the Hyper Compound on the polishing pad, kinda like 105 on a white LC foam?...if that makes any sense. I guess my real question is will I see good defect removal with the polishing pads alone with the Hyper Compound since I do not have the other pads yet and finish with the polishing pad and spray polish. New to OPT except for ONR.

Honestly Ed I can't answer that, yet. Like Mark stated I don't have much experience with the Hyper Compound and I only had 2 Optimum Polishing Pads with me at the time. The detail was almost 5 hours away from my house so I wanted to conserve just in case. As it turned out I did the whole car with just that one pad! I compounded with Meguiar's D300/cutting discs using a total of 2 old pads that were worn out and had to open 1 new pad. I have a 2000 Mustang scheduled for next weekend that I'm going to run more tests on because I won't be as pressed for time and won't have to conserve products. That detail is only 2 1/2 hours from home but only a few minutes from my apartment. :)

If someone else with more experience on the Optimum products would like to step in, we would all appreciate the info. :xyxthumbs:

Just got the spray polish today and won't have time to test until weekend. If it is anything like the spray wax, it will kick serious booty. I love that stuff (just got a gallon).
