Hello,

I'm trying to find out if there is a difference between P21S Concours Carnauba Wax vs S100 Carnauba Wax. I've search the AG Forum and all the threads say they are identical other than one is marketed for autos and the other for bikes. They don't go into much detail, other than saying there are the same. How do they know they are the same? They are not same when it comes to price. $31.99 vs $ 14.99.

Thank You,
Robert

$17 is about the only difference I know off. I'm with you about not being able to find the details about how people know they are the same. But a lot of people say they are.

If you are willing to spend $30 on a wax, get DP Max Wax or Pinnacle Liquid Souveran. If only $16 - Natty's Blue.

Here is a description from another site. Although it does not specifically mention the paste wax, one can only ass/u/me from the look, and the packaging that it also would be included.

In the early 80's, the German manufacturer of P21S adapted the detergent cleaning system used in the wheel cleaners for cleaning motorcycles. This new product, Total Cycle Cleaner, was brought to market under the S100 name. When Total Cycle Cleaner reached America in 1990, it created a major revolution! For the first time, all parts of a filthy bike could be cleaned in minutes using just one product that didn't contain any petroleum solvents! Rider Magazine hailed it as a "revolution for the Saturday morning wash."

Bike dealers and manufacturers clamored for the new cleaner and soon ocean containers were arriving weekly to satisfy the demand. Additional S100 products quickly followed including Special Performance Wheel Cleaner, Total Cycle Corrosion Protectant, Detail + Wax, Engine Brightener, Total Cycle Finish Restorer, and the S100 Super Absorbing Towel.

price and retailers are only difference, P21S to automotive crowd and S100 to the biking crowd.

I would go with the P21S, If consumer reports say it is the best. Basically if both cans are good for 10 waxes the p21S cost is around $3.1 a wax and the othe is $1.5 a wax. however if the p21S last one third to 50% longer then the price difference is not much and less if more then 10 waxes. I guess what is your time worth and the enjoyment factor. I do however enjoy doing it.

You are going to trust that consumer reports article? Wasn't their top products TURTLE wax? I hate to say it... but MOST of their products don't even come CLOSE to boutique products. I think I would trust the people here (who obsess over detailing) over the writers at CR and their apparent "knowledge" of the subject.

Ditto. Natty's Blue might be one of the most popular "cheaper" waxes. I sure love my stuff.
