Collinite 845 over Megs #26?

Last weekend I corrected a BMW and used 1 coat of Megs #26 as a LSP. Can Collinite 845 be successfully layered over the #26 to give the usual level of protection (I would think so) and longevity seen from C845?

I would suspect that it probably wouldn't "bond" as well when layered on top of Meg #26. Although #26 looks awesome, in the future if you are looking for longevity I would just skip the #26 and just use the 845. And if the surface is corrected and swirl free, the LSP becomes even harder to see differences in looks IMO.

Your point about "bonding" is well taken and that is my concern. If the consensus is that it will be a problem I'll use #26 for the second coat and use the 845 by itself next time. Thanks.

I would go ahead and use the #26 again, and whenever you get the chance to go over it again make sure the wax is off the surface (or strip the remaining wax) and use the 845.

I wouldn't expect the 2 layers of megs #26 to have the longevity of Collinite. What I was wondering was whether or not the Collinite could be successfully layered over a fresh coat of #26 to gain the benefit of Collinite's reported longevity vs that of megs #26. They are both carnauba waxes but based on what I've read about the C845's excellent longevity I didn't know if it had an ingredient that would impair or preclude the two working together in that order.

I didn't have the Collinite when I used the Meguiars wax but now I have it and would like to use it (without stripping the fresh wax) if I can. If it's not a feasible approach I'll just wait until the next waxing is called for.

You may be surprised how easy you can remove the #26 just by washing with Dawn.

Then maybe do an IPA wipe down, and wax with Collinite 845.

This guy is not sure. But I do love the look and slickness M26 liquid leaves behind (haven't tried paste). Try topping M26 with Ultimate Quick Wax. All else fails I suppose laying down 845 first then M26 may be a better way to go for durability. Wait 12 hours between if possible.

Just go over the #26 with the IW. The worst that can happen is it will last as long as #26, the best is it will last as long as IW.
