Well, this is my first attempt at this. This is my commuter car I picked up to go back and forth to work, 60 miles round trip. My goal is to get to the point where I can keep up our vehicles. I am looking to improve my technique before I attempt my black Dodge Ram.
Also, I need to state here that the car has been repainted in certain areas and has been neglected for quite some time. As you can see by the hood, it needs a lot of TLC.
I just did the exterior to start and will work on the engine compartment and interior as time permits.
So here goes...

Single bucket w/grit guard + Megs GC Shampoo
Chenille Microfiber wash mitt
Dried using a Cobra Waffle Weave Guzzler
Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay
Pinnacle Clay Lubicant
Taped off all of the trim, weatherstip and lights
PC 7424XP
CCS Orange pad w/XMT #3
CCS Orange pad w/XMT #1
CCS White pad w/Poorboys White Diamond Glaze
Red Foam Pad w/Collinite 845 Wax
Many microfiber towels
Megs Wheel Brightener @ 3:1 and a Mothers Wheel Brush
Megs APC + @ 10:1 on the tires w/Mothers Tire Brush
Dodo Juice Tyromania on the tires
Sprayway Glass Cleaner w/Poorboys Velvet Smooth Glass Towel
Never Dull on chrome
WD40 on all of the black trim
The previous "waxer" left all of the residue on the trim for me to clean
This was quite the learning experince for me. I wish I would have had a yellow CCS pad with the #3. Some scratches were just a little too deep for the pads/products that I used and could have used the little extra umph.
The technique with the polisher is also critical, I learned. Adjusting the amount of pressure applied to the mchine and watching the backing spin and not spin was quite educational. The whole experience was, actually.
I LOVE the Megs Wheel Brightener. I was truly suprised how clean the wheels came out. I went over them twice with the Megs and the brush. The brush is great, nice and soft to reach the inside of the spokes but also hard enough to clean the face of the wheel as well.
I apologize about the pics, I think they lack a lot to be desired. It is a cheap camera and my photo skills are not the best. I also did not take any before photos right before I started. The photos posted are just after I purchased the car.
My wife's 99 Grand Voyager is next. It is metal flake green and should turn out better than my Accord. The paint is better and the vehicle hasn't been neglected as much.
I want to say thank you to all of you that post on here. The reading is extremely helpful along with the videos. The write ups on the products, such as the Collinite 845 that Nick did allowed me to save time and assist me in making my process much easier. I learned alot, including taking and posting photos.
