Every once in a while you come across a wash tool that makes washing your car safer and more enjoyable. At Autogeek, we like to make that once-in-a-while discovery more frequent as we're always bringing in the latest and greatest wash tools and other detailing supplies to make caring for your vehicle effortless. Whether it's a new design for a drying towel, a more advanced polymer for a paint sealant, or a wheel brush that cuts the time it takes to clean wheels in half, we're always on the search for the latest breakthroughs in the car care world.

Our most recent additions to our expanding line of wash tools are the new Supreme, Gold Plush, Black Onyx, and Super Deluxe Wash Mitts. They're available in several different combos that include the corresponding microfiber towels so you can keep all your wash mitts and microfibers neatly organized. They're considerably larger than other wash mitts of their type and feature premium construction and materials that wouldn't look out of place in a wash mitt costing twice as much.

With several different colors and combos to choose from, I grabbed a Supreme Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt for a closer examination of what makes these new wash mitts so unique. The first feature worth noting is the double stitched cuff that features an internal loop for easy drying. Most other wash mitts have the loop on the exterior of the cuff and this can get in the way during washing and even catch on delicate emblems.

The inside of the mitt is just as soft as the outside so your paint isn't the only thing that gets pampered as you use this wash mitt.

The exterior of the wash mitt is where it really shines. Featuring hundreds of super soft microfiber fingers, the Supreme Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt safely cleans dirt particles off paint and then traps them until you agitate the mitt against the Grit Guard insert in your rinse bucket.

A common trend in the automotive industry is go big or go home. As the vehicles we drive continue to grow in size, so do our mitts and brushes we use to wash them. While bigger isn't always better, the new Supreme Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt is a comfortable 11" x 8" so you can cover plenty of area but still have the flexibility to get into all the hard to reach spots. Because of its additional size, the Supreme Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt also holds considerably more soapy water giving you an even better chance of leaving a shiny, swirl-free finish.

As soon as the new wash mitts arrived I immediately put one to the test. Instead of washing a white Kia I grabbed the keys to Max's new CLS63 AMG along with other essential items for safe, swirl free washing.

I added an ounce of Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo to about 3 gallons of water and then used the Grit Guard insert to mix the wash solution with the water. If you add water first, and then the soap, you're not going to be overwhelmed with suds. Performing this method ensures proper mixture of the wash solution.

After mixing the water and soap solution and enjoying the pleasing aroma of coconut oil the Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo provides, I shot a strong jet of water into the bucket using the Industrial High Flow Fireman's Nozzle just to amp up the suds. Because Pinnacle's Bodywork Shampoo features Tuff Suds II technology, the suds will last throughout the entire wash leaving you with silky smooth paint that smells as inviting as it looks.

When used in conjunction with a high quality wash such as Pinnacle's Bodywork Shampoo, the Supreme Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt glides across the paint as if it were floating above it. Because of its excellent absorption capacity, you can rest assured your paint's delicate finish is being properly lubricated as you wash.

You'll quickly learn that after doing the research and investing in quality products, it really pays off to use the good stuff the first time. Once you indulge in a carnauba paste wax or cutting edge paint sealant, you'll do every step necessary to maintain this type of shine...

So these mitts don't have the liner in them like the old cobra mitts do correct? That was my biggest complaint about those mitts. As soon as I washed them for the first time the lining inside fell apart. Now I have 4 wash mitts all the same that I can't put my hands in due to either the liner isn't there, bunched up, or the cuff is falling off...

So...may have to pick up one of these and give it a test run. I really do like the chenille wash mitts.

Wow...wasn't too long ago that everybody had to have a sheepskin/ wool mitt. I mean nothing could be better for your BMW. Now it's a new chenille mitt in designer colors no less with cool matching towels. Very clever marketing. Next it will be a new foam mitt that changes colors depending on which soap you use. I still use the same synthetic wool wash pad I bought years ago... In any event the sheep should be happier now.

Interesting. How do you maintain these mitts, keeping them clean, dry and all?

The inside is not that crappy foam anymore that used to fall apart when you washed them. It is now a cloth liner(like picture with the white inside). Those other ones were terrible!! I need a mitt I can put into the washer to clean. Rinsing clean is not clean enough for me.
