ok so im going to get some new pads for my rotary and i want some 5.5" lc flat pads and im stuck on what backing plate would be the best. i do want a flexible backing plate, i have narrowed it down to 3 backing plates now i just need your opinions on each plate of how flexible they are, how durable they are, and how balanced they are. the following are the ones im looking at:

Lake country 4 3/4" flexible backing plate

Flex-Foam HD 5" backing plate

Meguiars 5" W64 backing plate

Thank You Guys! i look foward to seeing your opinions!.i think im leaning towards the flex-foam unless the LC has more flexibility or will last a long while.

None of the above are really that soft and flexable. If it were me I would get the Megs Solo backing plate(W66) and cut it down to size. Thats what I did because they didnt offer a 3.75" foam backing plate for 4" pads.

i'm not needing something to flex like say the lc one pad system backing plate, i just want something with a little give in it so more pad contact is done on the slight curves of door panels, quarter panels, and fenders ect.i will check out the solo plate i seen another post from you saying you cut it down, how did you cut the BP down?

I have a knock off of the flex bp made by CG. I like it. It's held up an I like the size for smaller pads. It gas enough give but not too much. I also use a 7 in buff and shine bp for my bigger pads, however that one has no flex and is 6 years old.

The megs w-64 is designed to use for self centering pads. It doesnt tell you this but .....

I bought this one by mistake but was able to unscrew the center peice with a pair of plyers and still use it.

I put it on the rotary and milled it down with a small pocket knife so it would be perfectly round and balanced.
