It's been awhile since I've posted a show & shine and I will start with an apology for my awful pics and lack of pics. Also...this is not a real Saleen....just a body kit. It is an SVT though.

This is actually my neighbors daughters car. It's been sitting in their yard for 2 years and she is now going to be selling it. The car is in rough shape with body rot, clear coat failure all over, needs a new tranny, and has 185k for miles on it. So obviously she was just looking to get it cleaned up to get the most she can for it.

This wasn't an actual planned or scheduled detail. They grabbed me when I got home early Friday afternoon and asked if I could help them out if they tossed me some money. Of course I agreed....should have charged more! lol oh well have to be a good neighbor. Plus now that they see the work I do I now get to do the other 3 vehicles they have.

Let me just say this that the smell in this car was unbearable! My hot water extractor was broken so I explained to the customer that I would scrub the carpets but that I wasn't going to spend a ton of time on them. Which they were more than happy with.

Products Used
OPC - Not diluted
Folex
Invisible Glass
DP Xtreme Foam Soap
Detail King Carpet Shampoo (I had it laying around and figured I could use it here, not my normal go to)
Super Clean Degreaser
Iron-X
ONR - Diluted to Clay Lube
Wolfgang Fuzion - I know I know why waste a good wax on a beater...just wanted to see how much of a difference it made
303 Aerospace
P21s Metal Polish
Distilled Vinegar/Water dilution - to help with soap suds in the carpets

Equipment Used
Wet/Dry Vac
Vapor Clean Gaia - steamer portion only since the extractor is broken on it
Various Brushes - daytona wheel brush, boars hair brush, a couple small interior brushes, carpet brush, etc etc
PC 7424xp - With brush attachments for carpet and to apply the wax
Air-Zone Ozone Generator
Three 5 gallon buckets - 2 for wash and 1 for wheels/tires
Microfiber Wash Mitt
Lots of MF's
Terry Cloth towels

On to the pics...

Next under the back seat

Found a HUGE next under the spare tire...I took all the carpet and particle board out of the trunk and was thrown away...really was no saving it.

To make my life easier I removed all the seats

50/50 of the hood...this is wax only! No polishing was done.

Looks way better!

I love when a car is rejuvenated. A new tranny and a little work and that mustang will be back on the road where it should be!

It is a good investment to have a car detailed before tryiing to put it up for sale...You did a very good job!!!

How well did the Ozone Generator work??

Thanks! And that's what I explained to them when they asked. I guess they had a kid offer then $800 for the car. Now she wants to get at least $1000-1100 if she can.

The Ozone Generator worked AWESOME!! Once I cleaned everything in the car, I did two shock treatments and the smell of urine and feces is completely gone! There is still a slight musty smell but not very bad at all. This was the first car I've used it on and figured it would be a great test.

I'm sorry...something was living in there? Mice, rats, chipmunks?

How did they carry the acorns in there?

That's a good question. I honestly don't know. And actually now that you mention the acorns there must of been chipmunks in there at some point too cause I don't think mice eat acorns...could be wrong though.

I know there were mice though cause I found 2 (alive!) while I was cleaning.

I guess if they have chewed part of it so there's something they can grab in their mouth I guess a mouse could carry an acorn. So what happened with the live ones? They ran off? You dispatched them to mouse heaven? They were embarrassed and helped you clean up the mess they made?

LOL - I caught them and let them go in the field right by our house. I only thought there was one...until I pulled out the spare tire and a baby one popped out. But as far as I know I got all the mice out...of course there very well could be some that were hiding that I couldn't find.

Good job cleaning up that Mustang!

Unfortunately, that car is not a Saleen, OR an SVT. That there is a GT. SVT (Special Vehicle Team) modified GT Mustangs to what we know as the Cobra. Cobras came standard with leather seats and a 5-speed transmission. Hopefully your neighbor doesn't try selling the car as a Cobra.

Good to know. I wasn't sure about the svt stuff since she put the saleen body kit on and svt badges.
