I was asked by the used car sales manager to detail a 2010 Maxima they have sold. The customer agreed to purchase the car but wanted the swirls and scratches gone and some interior touch up done. Interior Magic did the interior and drove the car into the service drive for me to look at. As I walked around the car I asked the guy from Interior Magic what all this polish splatter is on the outside, he told me they decided to fix a few problem areas, uh oh lets look and see what they did. Well someone there had a smart idea to wet sand a deep DEEP scratch that was on the driver side rear door, well their wet sanding left a lot to be desired. They also tried to compound some spots.

So before I left I washed the car in the wash bay using 3D Orange APC in a $20 snow cannon from Home Depot
Washed with a Sheepskin mitt with DG soap and Dawn mix
Pulled the car into the detail bay and went home
430am I came in and did a wipe down with ONR
Wet sanded the crap job interior magic did I used 2500 grit
Polished the vehicle using my Griots Garage DA with Meg Microfiber Cutting Disc and HD UNO I ended up destroying 2 pads
Switched to a B&S yellow pad and did the bumper and pass 1/4 panel destroyed that pad, the center just melted and foam flew everywhere
Another yellow B&S pad and I finally finished
Sealed with DG 501/601
Used First Place Finish tire shine on tires
cleaned glass with First Place Finish glass cleaner
Wiped wheels down with ONR
Final wipe down I used Opti Seal
I started on Friday at 430am stopped at 730am for work, continued Satrurday at 430am until 7am did my final touches and wipe down when worked slowed down Saturday morning

Thank you, no touch up that I am aware of, I would have but our wonderful parts dept does not keep touch up in stock

Thank you. The owner had some very large dogs I am told and I think they were allowed to jump on the car

I think I found that the problem is my backing plate, when I was looking at my GG DA with BP only on it yesterday I hand spun the BP and you can see it wobble like crazy and the center of the BP just does not feel right. Will be putting my trusty LC BP back on

Nice Work, :goodjob2:

Bad enough to have a car in this shape but then have a "professional" screw it up worse! I hope you got more compensation for fix the hack?

I think Griots are hard on backing plates, I've had one go bad too and I don't use mine every day.

Hard to believe someone treats a 20K car like that.:nomore:

I bet you would have liked to see the customers face when they came to buy it?

Keep up the good work!:dblthumb2:

Thank you, no extra for fixing their hack work, I cut my job a deal, one reason is because my GM allows me to use the wash bay and detail bay to do my side work. She was excited when she looked at the car, she thought it was a different car, she asked me for some business cards and wanted to know what she needed to do to maintain it. :xyxthumbs:
