Hey guys,
I just got one Opti-coating my '12 Civic Si (crystal black pearl) and I must say it looks great.
Products used:
DP clay with clay lube
XMT #1 polish with LC crimson pad
15% IPA spray
Opti-coat 2.0 (used 3.5cc's)

At first I was very worried about doing this to a almost new car (400 miles on it) as it is warrantied and a black car, but when I first put it on, it's almost magic! Anyone hesitant about doing this to their car, do it!

Wow only 3.5cc's out of the 20?! That's great!

Do you have pics?

I agree. It really is an easy application. I was worried I wasn't using enough but it turned out great and I didn't have any high spots. I think the high spot problems that people have are often from applying too much product

I can grab some pics in a few, and yup only 3.5 cc's. I didn't wanna put on to much, just enough to coat and cover the car.

Just apply it enough so that you see some product being left behind and making contact with the paint right? So long as you see a residue in your path with no dry spots then you're ok right?

I'm so glad to hear that only 3.5cc's are needed. Did you just coat the paint or did you include glass, trim and wheels?

Well, I was going to grab some pics but my SLR battery is dead. I'll snag some tomorrow morning then :)

And yup, I just looked to make sure product was going on, then I continued to wipe it on until it was gone. I only did the paint. I used wolfgang trim sealant for the trim, and PB wheel sealant for the wheels.

How are you liking the 2012 Si? I've got a 2007 Si and I love it. I've heard mixed reviews about the 2012 though.

I love it so far. I don't have many miles on it yet, nor have I got on it as it is still getting broke in. The only thing people don't like is its not the 2.0 or they say the interior is cheap. Wanna see cheap look at the cruize interior.

I have an '11 Honda CR-Z in Milano Red. I've thought about Opti-coat but a little nervous about screwing it up.

I did the Opti Coat today on my wife's Ford Edge. I did all the trim, Pano Roof and wheels. Thought I used to little because I used about 9 CC's. This stuff on Black is extremely easy to use. If you miss the high spots you have to be blind. Looks great.

i have an 8thgen Si in habanero red pearl i love this carI love mine too, except for the 3rd gear issue. Honda reduces to fix it for me so I had to put in different transmission fluid and get aftermarket motor mounts to reduce the frequency of my 3rd gear grinds.
