I have a Griots Garage DA I have been using for about a year now, zero problems with it until my last detail. I was using the Meguiars Microfiber cutting disc, like I have since the release, and I melted the velcro. No biggie a lot of people have done so, well melted my second one right after. Then I switched to a Buff and Shine yellow pad and melted a hole through the backside right through the foam in the direct center. Finishing up the detail this morning using another yellow B&S pad and it started acting weird I took it off the DA and noticed the center was very hot and weak like the foam inside is broken down. Is it me all of a sudden? Do I have a problem with my GG DA? Is it my backing plate? I have been using the GG DA since last year, been using Meg MF since the release this year and been using the CG backing plate since June. I know wrong bp with mf pads mess the pads up but what about the foam pads?

Was the Griot's hot to the touch around the black part of the housing?
