Corolla Door Trim

I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla with a metal-type door trim which seems impossible to clean or polish.

I've used several products, most leave it feeling oily.

I've attempted to search this forum as I know there is something that will work.

Ideas?

Is this trim you speak of like a door gaurd? Or are you talking about the trim that runs below the windows? Are you sure its metal?

I've used Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant, rubber trim sealant, rubber protectant, exterior trim products, metal sealer (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-trim-sealant.html) with good results. If you are wanting to shine them up, many people will hit them with a polish and they shine up nicely.

I bring you good news! That can be fixed or at least made much better :awesome:

Try applying a cleaner wax or mild polish using a cotton applicator pad. If cotton is not avalible, use crappy microfiber towel or app pad. You'll have these babies looking better in no time :cruisin:

When you applying, try your best to stay away from those rubber seals or you'll be digging wax out untill next July :autowash:

Yes. This is the exact problem I was up against at one point on my Civic Si. I used some mild polish on mine and they were back to new in no time. I've yet to find out what to put on there though which won't streak.

Trim sealant seems to streak pretty badly, even UTTG. I may just try some of my Blackfire Wet Diamond on it since this technically is a painted area and not just colored plastic like most trim.

Try working in a smaller area. Polish, remove. Polish, remove. Polish, remove...

You could also wash the area with cold water to remove the streaking.
