Marble is pretty pourous, isn't it? I don't know how many things I'd want to be rubbing into it and getting stuck.

I tried my groit's DA with m105 and purple wool and surbuff pads. nothing. Its just doesn't have the power to polish marble. I couldn't even tell if I got light swirls out of it. You will need marble polish, found at home depot or specialty marble stores and a marble polisher. Maybe a rotary will work.

you can use your DA to sand marble, it works well with that. you need 40grit to really level and remove deep scratches. I worked up to 800 1500 grit and tried compound/polish. word of warning is that I wasn't able to get the deep liquid shine that you see with marble. It left it with satin look.
