So my mission this weekend is a perfect hood. Following up my virgin outing, I sectioned off a corner of my still ugly hood. Tossed on the yellow LC pad, and some Meg 105 and didn't hold back. After the 1st run, no improvement on the trouble spots. Wiped down, reapplied, and dived back in for another go. Still... no improvement. I worried that my technique was too soft my first time out and that was the reason for so many imperfections left over. Not the case after today.

How do I deal with these hood marks? They look like fresh bug splatter, but obviously they are not. Should I give it another pass until they surrender? Should I wet sand? Or, should I just hit it with my Dr. Colorchip kit that arrived today? I worry that if I give the cut any more effort I'm almost certainly going to be looking at burn damage.

Here is a pic of what I'm talking about, have many of these:

I'm afraid your going to need to visit a paintbooth to fix this. Looks like bugs have etched your paint

Not happening. Project car, all improvements have to happen in house. Sounds like based on that, best option is a Colorchip cover up as the least evil option??

PS - I inherited this damage from the previous owner.

Just saw Colorchip's before after page. There's actually a few shots of this kind of damage. While the cover up doesn't blend as nicely as the chip/pits do, it does make a marked improvement. Looks lke that will be my only option.
