I am working on a BMW with decent paint, but my guess is that it sat on a dealers lot for quite a while because the chrome trim and glass are covered with water spots. For the glass, DP glass polisher has worked wonder, but the chrome trim is in bad shape. I've tried several test spots using different compounds and glass cleaners, but with no luck.

Anyone have any advice?

You could try Never Dull- sometimes it works when compounds don't...

Have you tried white vinegar/ water solution? Also get some Lime Away.

If it is indeed plastic chrome, Megs PlastX works rather well on those pieces.

PlastX was one of my test spots. I had high hopes, but the stains are just too deep.
