clay before using SIP or M205?

Would you still clay before using these products? seems the product would smooth out the paint.

Claying is a good idea prior to polishing otherwise you'll grind the embedded particles right into the paint and likely cause more defects. While no one would ever think of doing this it's like polishing the paint without washing it first...
