View Full Version : DA on a Curvy Car

Just used my new Griot's DA last night for the first time...part of the Wolfgang kit I got during the secret sale. Very pleased with the results...in fact, the car has never looked better...and it was easy!

But on the '57 Chevy, there are some areas where the standard size DA doesn't fit real well. I know I could just buy the matching Griot's 3" polisher, but is there a better / cheaper option?

Thanks in advance for the advice,

HRJ

you could try a smaller backing plate and smaller pads. Thats what I do.

Are those Griot's products (the backing plate and pads) or something else?

I'm sure you can use different backing plates and pads on the Griots, atleast I know you can use different ones on the PC 7424XP.

Right, I use Meg's BP & MF pads on my Griots.

Yes I just took a look at the Griots DA and you can change the backing plate. You should hit up Nick and ask him what backing plates he recommends and which pads to go with those backing plates.

Just ordered LC 3.5 plate and a 6 pack of 4" spot buffs...that'll do the trick, I think! :)
