It always stay oily to a point where the customer and I thought it was hologram left on the car.

I thought cquartz could be topped with wax but not opti-coat. anyone experienced this before?? should I change wax and try to use dp instead? should I only top it off with another sealant?

thanks for your input

Just to make sure I'm reading everything correctly...

You applied CQuartz to the paint and then topped it with Fuzion?

And now you try to wipe the Fuzion off but traces of the wax remain?

Try this,

The Final Wipe – Tips for creating a streak-free, show car finish (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/19956-final-wipe.html)

Or wipe softly with a clean microfiber towel and a spray detailer...

If neither of those very non-aggressive approaches work you need to try something a little more aggressive...

Maybe Avi can chime in?

Either Cquartz or Opticoat can be topped with wax. It's just a matter of how long they will stay on the surface and e fact that wax will defeat some of the purposes of a coating in the first place... Specifically allow more dust to stick to your car.

Not sure why your having that issue. I'm assuming you didn't wax until after the Cquartz was buffed off and cured?

I guess I'll never understand the need to defeat CQuartz's characteristics by covering it up with a wax. Avi has often recommended ReLoad as a "topper" if I'm not mistaken. That or another layer of CQuartz.

But to each their own methods.

I'd suggest...Try a good car washing session to remove the wax from the vehicle...and go from there...

Hi
im not familiar with Fuzion product exactly. anyway, i said you can apply nuba wax base on cquartz , and not organic/petroleum oil base wax.

your oily stains could be two option,
either you didnt clean up 100% the oils and polish residue before coat. this way its impossible to remove that stain after applied cquartz.
or, cquartz wasnt dry enough and you applied wax oil into the coat, and after drying it got these stains.

i advise you to light polish that area. clean it very well from any oils and apply cquartz again if you have some left.

That would be my next recommendation...

I list quite a few paint cleaners in this article as well as some tips and techniques for working with paint cleaners in general.

How to use a hand applied abrasive polish or paint cleaner by hand (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/26612-how-use-hand-applied-abrasive-polish-paint-cleaner-hand.html)

Always work clean

Use a clean, soft foam applicator pad, I really like these,

CCS Red Wax/Sealant Applicator Pads 2 Pack (http://www.autogeek.net/red-ccs-applicators.html)

Because they are fairly thick so the spread out the pressure of your fingers better than thinner versions.

(I like thinner versions for applying finishing waxes and sealants because then I'm not pushing hard so don't need the thickness).

Work on a cool surface in the shade

Work a small area at a time, about 8" to 10" squarish or so...

Use an "ample" amount of product, don't under-use and don't overuse to the point that you hyper-lubricate the surface but use enough to keep the surface lubricated throughout the process. I would use a teaspoon to a tablespoon of product, usually a tablespoon's amount to start with because your pad is dry when you start and some of the product is going to go into the pad, and after breaking in your pad then cut down to about a teaspoon's amount of product.

Hold your hand flat to the pad, not vertical, the idea is to not put pressure ONLY on your fingertips but over the face of your fingers to avoid Fingermarks (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/20496-finger-marks.html)

Spread the product out over the area you're going to work

Work the product for about a minute, don't work till the product is dry, but it should go from an opaque film to a clear film

Wipe off before residue dries

When you move on to a new area overlap a little into the previous area
Before going over an entire panel or an entire car, first do a "Test Spot" and make sure you're getting the results you want and hope for. If you can't make one small area look good with your choice of product, pad and "your technique" then you'll be glad you only worked on a small section to start with or to test and not went over the entire panel or car.

When working on clear coats by hand to actually "remove" defects, technique is just as important as your choice of product and pad, (pad = application material).

So do a Test Spot first.

Also, read the manufactures directions and follow them as the above is just a general guideline. The manufacture always knows their products best.

If you end up using a light paint cleaner, here's a tip...

Priming your pad when working by hand (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tricks-tips-techniques/36178-priming-your-pad-when-working-hand.html)

Another option if you want to stay very non-aggressive would be to very carefully wash the car with a quality car wash soap and a brand new, premium quality car wash mitt...

Don't scrub the paint, just gently glide a wash mitt with soap over the paint nd then blot th car dry.

Ok guess I need to give more information. Coating was applied a week ago, so cquartz had 6 days to dry.

No holograms or any defect was visible on the paint ( 2011 car and did a 3-step polish on it before cquartz)

Why I know it's oily residu it's because when I wiped-off the wax, I took care of wiping it in a horizontal pattern, I saw the ''holograms'' then I take a clean Microfiber and wipe it off verticaly and hop ! holograms are now show on the side. So, I know it's the wax that can't seems to adhere on the coating and no-matter how much wipe-off I will do, it will just spread and spread... and spread!

You can try using a paint-safe APC. That should remove any wax residue and leave the coating intact, but as always, I would check with Avi first.

That was my thoughts. The cquartz should not be removed with apc.

yes, in that case .. you say the cquartz was great after 6 days..
once you applied the wax, problems started..
use APC,eraser, or any oil remover, strong soap will be good too.
it should remove your holograms..
it wont affect the cquartz, no problem for that.
