Second ever DA detail: 2007 Honda Civic

Hello fellow detailers! You may remember about a week ago I posted results of my first detail with a DA on my old Mazda pickup. I decided this weekend was going to be great weather for detailing my wife's Civic. Let's see how it turned out.....

Wash & Dry:
Dual Buckets
Megs Super Car Wash with fiber mitt
California water blade
Microfiber drying towels

Klasse AIO (not really an LSP, but it's LSP enough for this car)

Front fender popped out. It's been hanging there for about 9 months now.

Left over sticker and sticker glue on the HEADLIGHT. Why in God's name would someone put a sticker on a headlight?!

Some sort of weird, oily goop. I wasn't sure what this was or if it would come off.

After a wash, clay, wash it's looking a lot better. But the oily goo on the fender, the headlight glue residue, and all the other paint problems are still there.

Now we're getting somewhere. This pic is after the M105/WGTSR 3.0 and KAIO. I hit the back half of the car with Megs 105 until I ran out. Then I switched over to Wolfgangs Total Swirl Remover. I have to say I prefer the WG over the Megs. They both remove swirls just about the same, but the WG cleans up very easy compared to the Megs. If the M105 dried up it was a real pain in a@@ to clean up, but the WG cleaned up very easy.

No more oily fender. The clay did nothing to the oily stuff, but the WG took it right off.

Black Wow put the pop back in the trim, but that stuff is really greasy itself. I got some on the paint and it was a bear to clean off. Not the products fault, but I'm going to get some small applicator brushes next time to put this stuff on.

Thanks nadroj. Luckily it just popped back in. You can see on the end of the bumper there is a screw hole. The plastic on the back side of that hole is broken, but the screw is still attached to the car, under the fender. I removed the screw, pushed the bumper back until it snapped in place and put the screw back in. There should be enough material to hold it in place. It feels very secure. I figure if it pops out again I'll use some epoxy on the broken plastic and reattach it. Anyway, for now it looks %100 better and seems secure.

Thanks everybody! Now if I can only get the neighbors cat from walking across the hood in the middle of the night and leaving paw prints all over the car....sigh. A detailers compulsion, I mean WORK, is never done. I wonder how much one of those California Dusters costs? :buffing:

Great job, lokerola! I own a 2006 Civic (Asian/Euro body) too. Just curious: Do you ever get the water stains below the sideview mirrors?
