First of all, I am completely new to car detailing.
My car has few door dings and minor scratches. Will rubbing compound fix them or I have to go for touch up paint? I am thinking meguiar's rubbing compound or ultimate compound.
Thanks!

Compounding can eliminate or minimize scratches but it depends on how large and deep they are.

Dings require mechanical removal and refinishing.

Meguiar's Ultimate Compound works well. This works incredibly well when used with a dual action polisher and an orange and white foam pads..
