I thought I'd start a thread where everyone can feel safe in admitting their recent shame they may have in something detailing related. :o This is the first step to reconciliation :props:

I'll start:

Well, I've been so busy that for the first time since I owned my Sky I didn't wash her for probably 4 weeks! Oh my! I know... Now, there was certainly not a bug or anything on her (which I always remove after a drive with UWWP if she gets them) but there was some dust. On top of that both of our daily drivers (outside 24/7) hadn't been washed in probably the same time!!

Well, today was Skybaby spa day and the other 2 got bathed and tires dressed as well.

A couple pics:

Ahhh, what a beautiful morning!

First Skybaby Im the MAN

After Skybaby was bathed and dry in the garage and the first layer of PERL was on her tires I moved onto the other two cars.

I didn't wash my Trans Am for a few weeks. It sat outside that whole time... Worst mistake ever. I forgot how much work it took me to get it looking good for car shows.

Part of the time it sat at a repair shop but it was only a couple days. It rained those days of course. It hadn't seen rain in years before that

Corey, your vehicals are spoiled! If Mrs 07 wasn't bucking the issue right now I'd be out washing my truck in the dark and doing a full correction on her. My wife just doesn't get it......:dunno:

When I took my car to RealTune Performance the guys asked when am I going to detail my car. :o The only thing I could say was "when I'm not working on other cars". Hopefully when it's ready I can bring it home and finally polish the paint and tie up some loose ends.

Mrs 07 went to bed! I'm off to the shop for a late night detail on my own vehical, with a cold beverage or 12!

Hope everyone has a great Labor day!

God damn it I need a garage! I would LOVE to do that. Unfortunately I need my shop to do any work. Tear.

Three weeks ago I detailed my personal truck. It has been on about 400 miles worth of road trips since then and has been completely exposed to the elements in the driveway instead of under my carport as it usually would be. It hasn't been touched in any fashion since the day I pulled it out of the garage with a fresh coat of wax on it.

Damn long-term project Mustang taking up my parking and my spare time!

On the upside, expect an "Extreme Makeover" thread sometime in the near future when I finally get this thing out of my hair.

My cousin wet-sanded his newly painted jet black truck with 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper to remove orange peel. He thought I could remove them. Hahaha! Joke was on him! I struggled mightily trying to remove not only the sanding marks, but what I believe to be tracers too. After three days and countless hours, I called it a day and left his truck with spots I was unable to properly correct. However, once I acquire the right tools for the job, I will finish it and make it AG post worthy. Until then I'm hanging my head in a bit of embarrassment over my shoddy work.

I washed and Clayed my car and since I'm a complete noob went straight to a very fine finish polish thinking it would take out the scratches out it didn't, I didn't have a cutting pad on didn't really know what I was doing till I joined here topped it with autoglym hd wax it came out great and shiny but didn't remove a single scratch. Little to say I need to learn which I have since being here but wow shame on me for doing that.

It's funny how many detailers confess about not taking care of their own cars in a timely manner. Now imagine the non detailer who's life is just as hectic and it's no secret why tunnel car wash places are making money hand over fist.

I'd have to confess that I won't take my car to places where normal people park in tight quarters. I'm anal about somebody damaging my car's paint to the point of needing a parking buddy at work.., or just taking my wife's car when I go shopping. My car sticks out like a sore thumb and is a curse as much as a pleasure.
