Pros: you can apply it in very tight spaces where a machine wont get.

Cons: since we are not machines you may apply it more thick in one area than another making it a little harder to remove and it takes a lot longer.

I can apply a carnauba by DA in about 20 minutes to a whole car and not break a sweat. By hand, not so much. They both look pretty much the same. The major difference between the two is when you use a polish or compound.

Pros - you don't have to go to the gym that week
Cons - you'll feel like you went to the gym that week

Well one thing for certain, when you get tired of removing the thick coats by hand you'll learn exactly what thin means, and its always better to apply two thin coats than a heavy one

Pro's - Low cost, saves on electricity, no vibration, builds arm and shoulder strength,

Con's - Inconsistent thickness, mostly too thick, waste product, increased cost, arm and shoulder pain, several of hours to do properly,

Ive tried it a few times this weekend . I scrape out a little in my hands let it melt then apply it .
Yes its not uniform but you can get it in tight spaces .
Actually i'm kind of digging it this way .

AHHHh you mean by bare hand!!!! This method is a little messy and takes a bit of practice to get a thin coating on. I really like how you can get the wax to melt and then reharden on the paint with this method. Results are the same as any other method of application and I think it is just a personal choice as how to apply. Dodo makes soft waxes designed for hand application. A very intimate way of applying your LSP!

If your going to use your bare hands, don't "scrape" it out. Just rub the surface of the wax until it melts, then apply.

If you ever get a good technique with an applicator pad, you can apply finishing carnauba's in as little as 15 minutes. Last time I used P21s Concours, a great and affordable finishing carnauba, it took all of 10 minutes to wax my truck.
