polish for fresh paint?

We now are driving a 2011 Ford Focus in SGM... my daughter rubbed a front fender up against a yellow post in the HS parking lot... and I got the car back from the body shop today... the paint looks good except for a 4" diameter spot on the wheel well arch... I am tempted to polish it out a bit myself rather than let the body guy break out the rotary.

I have some Meguiars Deep Crystal System left over from the Colorado that I gave up in my MSA... is the polish from the system safe for fresh paint?
