The Iron X Paste is extremely concentrated and sticks to the paint for spot treatments. Its far more concentrated than the regular Iron X spray.

We used the TarX on a few spots on Adams bike this weekend where there was some type of hardened sap or something and it worked very well. Planning to use it more extensively next weekend.

As soon as they get the bigger Tar X bottles in, I'll be ordering some. So much construction around here lately I can really use it.

how does this compare to mineral spirits for removing tar?

Tim, I haven't used mineral spirits as a tar remover but I know that mineral spirits can soften and stain some plastics. Tar X is based off the solvents extracted from orange peels. It contains no chlorinated solvents or harsh chemicals but is strong for removing tar, bugs, etc. I'll be posting a review tonight or tommorrow that has a video where you can see its affect on tar. It is very safe on all auto surfaces as long as it's used as directed. Basically don't use it in the sun, don't let it dry, etc.

good to know thanks

hmmm, also makes me wonder if you were to do iron x once a year as a decon step, would it be better to do it before or after winter?

I'm leaning towards doing it as part of winter prep. The thought of salt brine being splashed all over embedded iron is giving me the heebie jeebies...
