I recently purchased a Flex PE14 rotary (http://www.autogeek.net/flex-pe14-2-150-rotary-polisher.html).

Although I have used a few "old skool" rotaries this is a new state of the art rotary machine.

Question: What speeds/pressure/arm speed would you recommend with the following products?

Speed:
Wool Pad
LC Orange
LC White
LC Grey

Pads:
What type of LC pads/size/type would you suggest?

It came with:
7 inch purple Kompressor Pad
6 Inch Rotary Backing Plate
8 Inch Twisted Wool Compounding Pad

I have 3) CCS 7.5 inch Curved Edge Foam Smart Pads™
1) Orange, 1) White and 1) Black and multiple 6.5" CCS Pads

Products:
I have and like to use M105 and M205, Menz SIP/PO106/PO85

Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.

Hi Mike,

Dang, I'm pretty sure I answered a similar question recently, maybe do s search for the Flex PE14 ?

I'm under the gun right now to finish proofing this first e-book and can't spend a lot of time on the forum but really quickly you would use this RB just like any RB when it comes to RPM's for pads and products.

Personal preference of course for some combinations.

For compounding with wool pads you normally want to be around 1500 RPM, I go as low as 600, sometimes 1000 and 1400, just depends upon what I'm abrading.

For foam pad polishing, anywhere from 600 to 1500 RPM I don't usually go over around 1300 to 1400 for foam pad polishing, at least not on clear coat paints. Lacquers and gel-coats are different, sometimes they like speed.

I did a quick search and I think you'll find some info in these two threads... I'm pretty sure I talk about RPM's and pads in the Bumblebee thread...

This was a fun car to buff out... no plastic trim! No trim at all actually... :D

Thank you that was great feed back.

I've "played" with the Flex PE14 a little so far and have a white Tacoma pick up truck to do with it Friday.
The PE14 is comfortable, smooth & easy to use. I'm looking forward to some "real world" polishing with it.
