I have been thinking of using a waffle weave towel for a quick detail towel. call my weird (my car has a bunch of imperfections) but I am beginning to think a waffle weave towel would leave less scratches over time. I am talking more of the plush fluffy side of microfibers.

I may be wrong here..I think it is "safe" to do..but I think a waffle weave is specifically designed to "absorb" more than it is to "clean". Usually you use a waffle weave after you have a "just washed" surface...and a thicker plush MF towel should be used in conjunction with a quick detailer because it will "lift..and trap" dirt that has landed on the paint surface.
Just my opinion...maybe others can agree/disagree
