Today we have two new products from a new line called Muc-Off; the prewax cleanser and liquid wax. I for one have not seen or heard much, if anything about any of the products in this line, but I figured if AG carried them, they must be good.

First up we have the Muc-Off Prewax Cleanser. Here is the link to the AG store, description, and specs:
Muc-Off Prewax Cleanser, pre-wax cleaner, car polish (http://www.autogeek.net/muc-off-prewax-cleanser.html)

Prepare your paint for the finest finish!

Muc-Off Prewax Cleanser should be the last step before wax application. Muc-Off Prewax Cleanser removes old layers of wax, contamination, and fine swirl marks to leave the paint truly clean and ready for wax. Use Muc-Off Prewax Cleanser periodically to ensure the ultimate shine every time.

Muc-Off Prewax Cleanser ensures that your wax or paint sealant has the clearest shine and best durability by removing anything that might interfere with bonding. Things like dirt, silicone oils, and old wax buildup can prevent the polymers in the wax from fully bonding with the paint, which affects the wax’s longevity. Muc-Off Prewax Cleanser deep cleans the paint and improves its appearance by filling in light imperfections. Once Muc-Off Wunder Shine Liquid Wax is applied, it will look shinier and last longer.

Apply Muc-Off Prewax Cleanser after washing and drying your vehicle. Use a foam applicator pad to apply by hand or use a finishing pad on your dual action polisher. Buff off using a soft, clean microfiber towel.

Muc-Off Prewax Cleanser gives your vehicle a perfect, wax-ready finish. Now onto the review!!! :buffing:

The first thing I noticed about this product was the unique bottle/dispenser it comes in. It looks more suited for hand soap than detailing products LOL. HOWEVER, it turns out that it works very well for dispensing the perfect amount of product onto your pad. I really like this dispenser and kinda wish I could get some more for other products!!!

The other thing to note about this product is its consistency. It is VERY runny, to the point that you need to be careful when you flip the pad over and make sure it doesn't drip somewhere you don't want it. Not a con by any means, just something of note.

It doesn't take much product to get good results. A few small dots is all you will need to do a section about 24"x24".

This product can be applied by hand or by DA, I chose DA with a light polishing pad since I wanted to see if it could remove some light defects that could be left after claying or just after several washes.

The product goes on pretty wet as you can see in the following picture. This was taken after just spreading the product out on a low speed.

By the time you make a few passes the product will go totally clear and there will be VERY little residue to wipe off. I like this a lot since less wiping means less chance of marring the paint. However, this does come with the one con I feel this product has.....dust. It's nothing crazy, and nowhere near the level of some other products, but it is there, and should be noted. Here is a zoomed in picture of some of the dust. nothing a quick swipe with your towels won't take away, but it is there.

Now, here are what we are waiting for, the 50/50 pics!!! Im the MAN

Now as you can see from the picture most of the marring was totally cleaned up. Now this was used on a light polishing pad, so don't expect these results with a finishing pad, but it is good to know you can use this product to quickly and effectively remove light marring before you apply your LSP.

One other note, in the description of this product it talks about "filling" imperfections. I didn't note any filling at all, and all of the 50/50 pictures were taken after a quick IPA wipe down to ensure we were seeing real correction results.

Overall I think this is a very good product, for a great price. It is very effective at not only cleaning the paint before you apply your LSP, but also removing light marring and defects if used on a polishing pad. I will be using this product in the future, and would buy it again.

Stay tuned for the second part of this review which will cover the liquid wax!!!! I should have it up in an hour or so. thanks for looking!! Feed back please

I believe the IPA would remove any filling effects the product has. I may be wrong...

I have to say after reading your post and seeing the photos I am too impressed with this product. For a paint cleaner it looks like it does pretty well on defect removal leaving a very glossy finish...

Nicer work!! :props:

I wanted to remove the filling to show true correction capabilities. There are plenty of products that fill light swirls, but this one will actually remove them.

Thanks Bobby! To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I was very impressed, and will be using this product again in the future.

Very nice. On some pre-wax cleaners I have used, you have to careful when using by machine since they dry out and then dust. Some seemed to need to work wet and use a bit more than a regular polish to keep it wet.

Dave,
Fantastic review, and I never thought a pre-wax cleaner would be this helpful with removing light defects that a glaze would otherwise hide. Again, fantastic review.

Thanks Al. I did notice some slight dusting, but I don't think it got overly dry very quickly. I did 3-4 passes IIRC and that was about all it had in it, but as you can see from the pictures I don't think I would have benifited from more passes.

Go Muc yourself! LOL
