View Full Version : Polishing pad damage

Just got my new 4" polishing pads yesterday for my DA PC 7424(?) polisher.

Applied compound, tried switching pads, and while removing it from velcro pad fastener, fingers slipped and bit the chunk out of the pad. See picture.
My question is should I toss this pad or can I still use it?
And what is criteria for tossing old/damaged pads in general?

Thanks!

Call me cheap, but I would continue to use that pad if I was using it on my personal vehicle.

Yeah, I myself do not see a reason to replace it, but was wondering what other peeps do.
Working on a 70K car right now, so kinda afraid to screw things up :buffing:

Haha, I sure will, but I thought baseball gloves work better.

So what is the sign of a wearing out pad?
I have some that are 6yo and still look great!
