I think everyone will agree the finish on the Cadillac is horrific!

Swirls, Scratches and Water Spots throughout the finish! This should not only be a lot of fun for everyone that's signed up for Saturday's class but also a great learning experience.

And I think I have something just as cool for the Advanced Wetsanding and Rotary Buffer Class on Sunday but I'll wait till it arrives tomorrow before I share what it is...

Is that single stage paint?

Have not tested yet, too dirty to touch...

Going outside to wash it right now... then I'll pull it back into the garage and test it.

Wow, where do you find these cars? Seems like there is a new trend of older Caddy's for the classes starting. That is about as perfect a car for the class as I can think of, and its going to look awesome when the class is over.

It looked like it had flat/matte paint in the second picture...yikes!

If that is original paint, I think that Meg's #7 should be used before polishing. I've used it on black AFTER I polished by hand and then finished it up by machine, and it DOES make a difference, as it makes it look blacker and richer. I should have used #7 first.

Looks challenging but can hardly wait to get on it. Saturday should be a blast.

Shot a iPhone video after I washed and dried it... water spots and scratches look even worse after getting all the dirt off the paint. Water Spots appear to be both shallow Type II imprints, not deep craters but there's definitley a border to them. Also Type III as the paint inside the spots is faded and gray instead of black.

3 - Types of Water Spots - Type I, Type II and Type III (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/33499-3-types-water-spots-type-i-type-ii-type-iii.html)

Just finished washing out both Pad Washers, (yuck, amazing how much gunk they remove from your pads), as well a all the wetsanding buckets for Sunday's Class. It's getting late so I'll test the paint for bc/cc or ss tomorrow.

Time to push away from the keyboard...

Oh yea... fun car to drive too... drives like a powerful cloud...

Can't wait to see the results you can get out of the paint. That old Caddy would be fun to cruise in.

Bad finish or not, that is one fine lookin' car!

Looking back in time, it's Caddy's like that, that truly made the Cadillac a Cadillac.

looking forward to the pics for sure.
